EXPOSURE VISIT CUM TRAINING AT IHT, NOIDA

Central Institute of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India, Medziphema, Nagaland organized a 4 days Exposure visit cum training programme for farmers from Kiphire and Longleng districts of Nagaland on the topic “Modern Horticulture Practices with special reference to protected cultivation and micro irrigation”. The training was conducted at the Institute of Horticulture Technology, Greater Noida, UP from 25th to 28th February, 2019.

A total of 17 participants from Kiphire and Longleng district attended the programme. The training programme covered various topics on green house technology, quality nursery production of vegetable crops, soil health management, post harvest technology of green house vegetables, etc., besides lecture and practical demonstration, field trips to Technology Park, Greater Noida, UP was also organised, where the participants visited different types of green house structure as well as cultivation technology of vegetables under open field condition.

The main objective of the programme is to impart modern production technology to the farmers to improvise on their cultivation practices and it also aims in training the farmers to utilize their resources efficiently for improving their farming practices..
