Improved Production Technologies of Vegetables

With an aim to create adoption of greater scientific technology in traditional cultivation of vegetables, a one day training on ‘Improved production technologies of vegetables’ was organized by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH),

DAC, GoI, Medziphema in collaboration with Dept. of Horticulture, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh on 28th October 2014 respectively at Eco Resort,Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh..

Addressing the programme Mr. Egam Basar, Mission Director, APHRDM, Arunachal Pradesh opined that the R&D Mission of the department is contemplating to establish a FLD on vegetables at Namsai and the training was being conducted at the right time. Short speech was also delivered by Mr.S Bidhe, SDHO, Namsai.

Improved production technologies in watermelon, muskmelon and broccoli was imparted by Mr.Kaushik Palik, Technician and Mr. Abdulla Daud, Asst.Technician from Known-you-seed (India) Pvt. Ltd, Kolkota. Cost benefit of the vegetables were also disused. As per the requisition of the participants production technology on papaya var. Red lady was also imparted.

Certificate along with reading materials on cultivation practices, new hybrid varieties of water melon, musk melon and use of yellow trap for fruit fly was distributed to all the participants for their future reference. Feedback from the participants was also delivered and expressed their gratitude to the Director, CIH for conducting such intensive and practical oriented training programme. Altogether, 44 nos. participants attended the training programme.
